Scarborough - My 21st Birthday!

Hannah and I go to Scarborough for my 21st birthday, compliments of my mum & dad!

The Cliff Lift.
70p saves you walking all the way down the hill! Grandma told me that it used to be 'thrupence' - why do old people talk like that? - Or is it just old Yorkshire people?

The Amazing Spider

OK this isn't exactly a picture of some spectacular site in th UK but it is a spectacular feat by a spider worth commenting on!

If you look hard enough, you may see a spiders web in bewteen the two arrows.

The red line represents where the spider has either spun his / her web from the top of the bin to the bush or vicer versa - pretty long web!

The Allotment

This is our food source - for when we get married and have no money - this is what we will rely on. We have had it for a year now and we have grown potatoes, strawberry's, leaks, lettuce, cabbage, onions, raspberry’s, broad beans, herbs and of course, due to Hannah being female, daffodils and roses - for less than £20 a year - you can't grumble! We are situated on Gledhow Valley Allotments (more info here), and yes, that was us that you saw on Yorkshire Television over the last six months. Autographs can be provided at the correct fee!

1 year and we still haven't made a sign for it!

Barney is chillin' out on the allotment.
Usually he is pestering us with a toy or stick!

We spend a whole day on the allotment because there is a skip on site.
Anthony can be seen posing in the background - he makes it look like he is working hard but actually just wants to be famous by getting on my blog site!

South Devon

Our trip to Devon, August 2005. I could spend moths down here - somthing to do all the time. We were there for a week and only had time to explore the south. Very cheap holiday, as I have family in Buckfastleigh.

This is an island that extends out into the River Dart in Totnes.
Nice little spot where we ate lunch - could have stayed for hours!

This was great - old fashioned carriages and all run by O.A.P's who obviously spend their lives on this railway! Keeps em' off the streets at least!

In Bovey Tracey there is the 'House of Marbles'.
This machine is worth well over £1000!

Haytor is a very popular climbing spot in Dartmoor- great fun!

Very famous abbey - we watched the monk's mid-day service - very special to watch.

Leeds Metropolitan University - Headingley Campus

This is where I spend lots of hours studying Computing - Alothough we prefer to chillout on the Acre. Leeds Met is a great Uni, with great facilities - highly recommended!

Lake District

Here are a few pictures from my Georgraphy trip to the lakes in June 2001.

We studied this lake to the point that i could have drowned myself!

Mum says that she doesn't like the strange era here - she's not great with the English Language!

Pateley Bridge

Ok so here are the first few - these are taken from Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales - near Harrotgate. My family have a static caravan here which is surrounded by great walks and scenery - see below. More about Pateley Bridge here.

Not too sure if this is designed to fit in with its surroundings? Works well though.
